Izaskun Bilbao
Izaskun Bilbao Barandica, born in Bermeo, holds a degree in law from the University of Deusto and a master's degree in business management.
Her long professional career began with her work as a councillor in the town council of Bermeo with responsibilities in the areas of urban planning and culture. She has also been Director of Services in the Department of Culture of the Basque Government, Secretary and Financial Controller of Kortezubi Town Council and Director of Services in the Department of the Interior of the Basque Government.
In 1998 she became a member of the Basque Parliament and in 2005 she was appointed President of the Basque Parliament. In 2009 she became a Member of the European Parliament.
Former coordinator for fisheries issues within the Renew Europe group.
